About Johnny

Adoption Fee: $295
Boxer / Rottweiler
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Johnny!! Boxer Rottweiler Mix Approx. 2 yrs old Johnny came to us from Utah in April, he has been living here in IL with a family since then. He is a beautiful Rottweiler boxer mix. He loves other dogs and people but he does scare easily by people, unfortunately we think someone may have mistreated him in his previous life. Even so, Johnny is very loyal and loves to cuddle and just be near the ones he loves. Johnny currently lives with two cats and he likes to chase them. He's good with kids although we think he would better off with older kids, just because he's startled so easily and does have the tendency to knock them over (not on purpose of course!). Johnny lives with an adult male and female in his current home. He seems very fearful of the man in his home, so somewhere in his past he must have had some trauma. He is most at ease around women, he does like some men. He is potty trained and knows basic commands and is crate trained. His new family would need to be patient but he is a very good dog, he just needs lots of love. He loves to run and play, he goes on bike rides with his foster mom and does fantastic. He absolutely loves the dog park!! Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
