About Almond Joy

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Greetings future family! My name is Almond Joy, and if you are looking for a super sweet doggie to call your new favorite friend, you have come to the right place! I am a 6-month-old hound/shepherd mix puppy, and I currently weigh in at about 35 pounds. Not to brag too much, but I am just the prettiest lady around! I have licorice black and toffee-colored soft fur. And best of all? Like my namesake candy, I am as sweet as can be and my personality is as delicious as my gorgeous good looks! My friends from Fetching Tails Foundation welcomed me all the way from Mississippi. My siblings and I were rescued by the awesome ladies from the Tunica Humane Society, and when THS reached out to FTF to see if we could make the trip to Chicagoland to find loving forever homes, our foster mommy was happy to say yes! I am learning and growing so much thanks to my foster family, and am ready to spread my wings and fly to my forever home now. I love to run and play, and my dream forever home includes a fenced yard where I can play zoomies; when I get going in a good sprint I just love to stay outside for as long as possible! I also get along great with other dogs so if your playful four-legged friend needs a companion I would be a good gal pal for him or her; I would also be just as content as your one-and-only pupper, too, since I can keep myself happily entertained with my favorite toys and your attention! I love people of all ages, and would probably do best with older kiddos who can help continue to teach me boundaries and manners. I love to be around my people as much as possible, and when I am all out of energy from playing nothing makes me happier than curling up next to you for a sweet snuggle session! Since I am a young puppy, I am still learning lots about the world and how to be the best version of myself possible! I am learning how to walk on a leash, which is awesome because I love exploring outside! I am also working on mastering potty training; I am good at using a potty pad when needed and with continued patience and practice I will master this useful skill in no time! I am crate trained and can currently be left home for a few hours; ideally I would have someone home with me more often than not while I am still learning and mastering important life skills. Fetching Tails requires all adopters of young ladies like me to sign up for training classes, and I am super excited to see how much more I can learn with you by my side! I am a fun, sweet and silly big girlie and will provide you with a lifetime of affection, adventure and laughter if you promise to give me a loving home in return.
