About Blaze

Adoption Fee: $275
Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Allow us to introduce you to Blaze (affectionately known as Blaisie)! She is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped and available for transport to most north eastern states from November 10th. Her adoption fee of $250 is inclusive of all vetting and transportation costs, and you can apply to adopt her online at www.perfectmatchanimalrescue.org. Blaze is an intelligent, beautiful, & affectionate dog that loves people. She gave birth to puppies in September of this year, and now that they are all weaned, it's time for her to find that special forever family we know is out there! Her foster family had a DNA test done, and it was confirmed that she is a mix of Staffie, golden retriever and lab. Blaze is potty and crated trained, and we recommend that her forever family continue using the crate until she is fully transitioned. We think that once she is relaxed and settled, she will be fine outside of the crate. She loves to play with other dogs, but would prefer to be the one in charge of the game- she plays very enthusiastically and will do really well as an only pet - after all, she deserves the attention after raising 6 puppies! She has been around cats and tried to chase them but a quick, NO, stops her from running after them, even if they started the chase. She loves toys that squeak and has been known to toss one across the room so she can run after it. She has learned 'sit' and her foster family is working on stay and off. Blaze is very treat motivated - she learned to sit for treats after just a few attempts. She is young, estimated to be almost 2 years old, energetic and very loyal. She is quite agile and would likely be an excellent agility course dog with the proper training. She loves a good cuddle and enjoys curling up next to her person for a snooze. Since she has spent the majority of her time with our rescue caring for her pups, training her was a work in progress. She will still pull on a leash, so some good, consistent training is ongoing for walks but she is adapting really well to a harness for her walks now! If you would like to speak to her foster mom, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or submit an application at the website above!
