About Zeke

Pit Bull / American Bulldog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This boy has come a long way since we first pulled him from the shelter. He had been a street dog for so long. He has been successfully treated for heart worm and parasites. He also had a fungal infection and pneumonia. It has been a long haul for him but he is back and ready for his furever. He also has a bite history. He was pushed by someone that he thought was going to hurt the children at his foster home and he bit her. We want to be completely honest about the history that we know about. We immediately thought of euthanizing him but we knew something wasn't right. The police officer and animal control also said he was defending his family versus trying to hurt her. It was an unfortunate accident that has plagued both Zeke and the girl involved. Zeke went to a 4 week training class after that and several intermediate socialization and assessments. He has passed everything with flying colors. Not one bit of anything but goofiness. This boy is goofy. He just wants love, but also needs structure. For reasons obvious to our liability and his protection, we cannot adopt him to anyone with children under the age of 15. We would prefer a single person or active couple who aren't intending to have kids. He is a young buck. He is doing so great. He is the happy and secure boy we pulled out of the shelter. He was just badly abused. We know one thing. He is neck shy and for good reason. When he first came into the shelter, he had a rope or chain embedded in his neck. We want one thing for this amazing and sweet boy, just a good life. One that he has never lived before. Just to be a dog. Run in his backyard. Play at the dog park. Hanging out on the couch with his person. He needs exercise. He loves it. He is a good boy.
