About Lucy

Lucy was abandoned in front of our home. Why someone would abandon this sweet girl makes no sense to us. We want to find Lucy's forever home and hope you are it. Lucy is very loving, climbing onto your lap to cuddle up and get pet any time she can. She needs a home where she'll get lots of love and attention. Lucy is not hyperactive but likes to play. She does great in a kennel or a contained room. She's house-trained and knows how to sit. She barks very little. We're typically gone for 7 - 10 hours each day for work and she does fine on her own. Lucy is around 3 - 4 years old. We're not sure what breeds she is but she has a great personality. She has clean teeth, is a healthy weight (35 lbs), spayed, heart worm negative, and up to date on all vaccines. She's on heartworm/flea/tick medicine. Some things to be aware of: we've had Lucy around some young kids with mixed experiences. We recommend a home with older kids or someone who is experienced with properly introducing and observing her with kids. We have two large dogs that she does great with, not sure about cats. Lucy needs to be contained in a fenced area or on leash at all times while outside. She has a strong instinct when she smells or sees any small critters like bunnies, squirrels, or mice and will pull hard on the leash attempting to go after them. Hold on tight! She's stronger than she looks! We continue to work with her on these areas and she's already improved substantially. She is very trainable. We love Lucy but can't take on more than two dogs right now. We want to find her a great home with the right owner who matches with her personality and needs. We think the right owner will be an experienced dog owner who is willing to work with her on the few areas we recommend ongoing training with her.
