About Milo

This is Milo, an unaltered male Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix. His is around 6 years old. Here is the situation I am currently in. This was my dad's dog, my dad just passed away very unexpectedly a couple of weeks ago. He was a good man, but not very fair to this dog. The situation the dog is currently living in is not a good one, and even though my mom loves this dog, she cannot handle him. He is not a bad dog, he is very protective of my mom and has never offered to bite or hurt me. However, he does get aggressive when men come around, but I think that's a protection issue about my mom. I can't guarantee his temperament around other people or animals, but I do know he is very loving and deserves a chance to have a happy life. He has lived on a chain most of his life, and I feel the aggression he sometimes shows is just him needing to be able to run. A dog needs freedom to run, especially this breed. I truly believe in my heart if I could find someone willing to work with him that could provide a big fenced in yard, or a big farm--which would be better--that he would thrive. I know with his age this is truly an unknown, but I desperately need help for this animal. I don't want to have to go an alternative route. Due to my dad's unexpected passing and my health situation, I cannot physically or financially provide everything this dog needs. He has not had vaccines either. I was going to have a vet come out to give them, but the cost was more than I could afford, and we are not in a position in which we can carry him out to a vet. If there is a rescue out there willing to take him, I will give what I can to help cover some of the costs needed in getting his vet care. I just want to find him a good home. Please help so I don't have to have him put down. Thank you.
