Betty Jane was born about April 14, 2012 and will top out about 100 lbs. Betty Jane is large and gorgeous! She has been good with all of us. We may need to consider that she'd like to be the only dog or maybe just the only female dog. At this time she has some mild plague and tarter, but no dental needed at this time and if her new home practices good dental care you may be able to avoid one in the future. She has some lameness in her back right leg and radiographs show the muscles are in good condition with changes in her right coxofemoral joint. It is suspected she has a congenital condition called avascular necrosis of the femoral head,, but a traumatic event cannot be ruled out. She walks well with a mild limp. If her limp worsens a trial of NSAID may be of benefit.. This is all we know so far as the staff at the high kill shelter feels asking questions embarrasses the previous owners as the reason for surrender is so often financial. We will be learning as we go and so will you.
