About Solomon 'Solly'

Solomon (Solly) is a brindle mix of unknown breed (potentially whippet-boxer cross). He was neutered before he was 4 months old by the dog trainer friend we adopted him from. He is 4 years old now and current on shots. Solly loves to play with people and loves other dogs even more. He is in heaven when he gets to run around with bigger dogs than him. Solly has a mild temperament most of the time. He's quick to alert us of the fedex or ups trucks that frequent our street and to 'fend off' delivery personnel through the windows. Most of the day he happily lays on the steps in our house or next to/on top of our feet. He loves to curl up in a lap when I get down on the floor with him. He also understands quickly if you ask him to get up. He's well trained - sit, stay, down, heel, come. I get comments from other dog owners when on a walk in the neighborhood about how well behaved he is. - While he is a very GOOD dog, he is obviously bored and a little depressed with our lifestyle and without a doggy playmate. He would do better with a two-dog home, a place with acreage, or owners that have time to take him out for exercise. He needs exercise and more socializing either with another dog, or an owner that can treat him like one of the kids. We have three kids under 4, and keep finding ourselves unable to meet the needs of our children and his needs. We want better for him!
