About Simba

My name is Simba, and I'm looking for a quiet household to call home! I came from living with the same nice man my entire life, but when he became hospitalized for a long-term illness, he sadly had to ask Broken Tail Rescue to find me a new family. I am 13 years old and I weigh about 15 pounds. Though I am getting up there in age, I still have a lot of pep in my step and I am excited to be alive. If you see me you'll think, 'wow, that is a dog who is happy!' Ideally though I need a home with routine, perhaps one or two owners, and no kids. I am completely housebroken and am an easy dog to have around the house. I have a history of developing bladder stones (the rescue had to have them surgically removed!) so I need to be on a prescription diet for life. I love the canned prescription food though, it's so yummy!! Due to the special food I do tend to need to go out often but if kept on a schedule I do just fine and don't have accidents in the house. I love to chill in my bed or at my foster parents feet, and I am not barky, except when I'm crated and I need to go potty. I also enjoy snuggling with my owners either on the couch or on the floor. I LOVE to sleep in bed with my people but please don't roll over or kick me or I might just have to bite you, sorry not sorry. I will forgive you though if you can forgive me. I have no interest in other dogs. As long as they ignore me, I'll ignore them but if they give me the hairy eyeball or start trouble, I'll show them who's boss. As for cats, it really depends on the cat. If they stand up to me, fine, I'll leave them alone but if they are afraid of me, I'll give them something to be afraid of and give them a good chase every time I see them. I do have a few quirks like I don't like to be pushed away (like pushed down from begging at the table or pushed off a lap) and I might bite. Also, if I feel like your feet are coming a little too close to my body in a way that scares me I might bite. These things are few and far between but they are worth noting. If you are patient with me and don't play into the 'I'm going to show this dog who is boss' type of mentality, I will love you unconditionally. Simba is being fostered in Millbury.
