About Lily

Adoption Fee: $225
Chihuahua mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

This is our Lily. She is a Chihuahua mix with a birthdate of 2-8-12. She weighs just 7.5 lbs and is a real beauty with her white and tan markings. Lily was an owner surrender who came in with another foster pup, Lyla. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they were both surrendered to Puppy Pals Rescue for rehoming. Since Lily came into rescue, she's been spayed and provided all her vaccinations, tested heartworm and fecal negative, been micro-chipped, and is being kept on monthly preventatives. When Lily was only 3 months old, a small child dropped her and broke her leg. They had to put in pins, etc. She healed just fine and the only sign that something happened is a scar on her left front leg. The only long term issue is her fear of small children. Small children seem to make her nervous. Since being in her foster home, we've discovered that she really prefers to be the only dog. She doesn't like to share and will growl at some of the other dogs when she feels like it. She has never bitten or caused a fight - just shows her Alpha side. She really does great one-on-one with humans. We don't know how she would act around cats. Her favorite spot is on the back of the couch. She seems to be leash, crate, and house-trained; however, has had an occasional accident. Lily is a diva who doesn't like to go outside alone if the weather isn't perfect and we have to force her at times. She'll do fine once she's outside. So will need continued reinforcement in this area. She will go on pee-pads if provided. She will stay in her crate at night, but prefers to be with humans. She does great on car rides. Lily is a little cuddler and loves to snuggle with her foster mom under a blanket watching TV. Due to her personality - we suggest only children 10+ and possibly a situation where Lily is the only dog. She doesn't require a lot of exercise and she is very easy going. A fenced-in yard is preferred; however, not required if her adopter is willing to walk her and has patience with her going potty on a leash. Lily loves her humans and will provide many years of loving companionship for the right person.
