About Garfield

This handsome 5-6 year old was turned into the shelter when his family had to move and couldn't take him with them. He is declawed, so he has to be an indoor only kitty. His previous mom tells us that he loves attention, and has been around dogs and other cats and is ok with them. He is also very mellow, just likes to lay around and wait for someone to give him some love. He is good with kids, and his human brother was very sad to say goodbye to him. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on his FVRCP vaccinations. Garfield does have some special needs. His vet recommends he eat only Royal Canin's Urinary SO + Calm to ensure ongoing urinary tract health and prevent litter box issues. Garfield was also declawed by his original owner, and now his paws are inflamed. Left untreated this is very painful and will cause him to stop using the litter box (it hurts!), Garfield needs to be on Metacam for the rest of his life, .1ml every other day, at a cost of about $5 per month. He also seems to prefer 2 litter boxes. This guy is sweet, and will be worth the extra work for the person who will give him a home.
