About MuTchee

Adoption Fee: $25
Doberman Pinscher
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

A fine young DoberWoman is looking for her human. She is almost two years old, living in Athens, Greece, ready to start new life in a loving family. Today she is a lovely, spontaneous and energetic young 'doberwoman', who still needs a lot of work, but is ready for adoption. We rescued her almost a year ago in our neighborhood. She was kept on the balcony and roof, sometimes allowed to run free around. She was getting dangerous - harassing people and attacking cats. She is a very lightweight variety of doberman, tall, swift and gracious, almost flying. That means she needs a lot of space and at least an hour of running per day. She can be walked free, unless there are temptations around (think cats...) After neutering she is less dominant than before, but if you want to be her human, you must be ready to give her a lot of time and love. Being mostly abandoned in her childhood, she now hates staying alone, at home or tied on the street. And she complains pretty loudly if it happens. She nicely goes along with other dogs, but smaller animals are no-go. Does not pay attention to birds, though. She is extremely friendly to all humans, including children. She has strong protective instinct, especially for kids. And she cuddles passionately. She is intelligent and loves learning new things. However, left without stimulation, she starts looking for entertainment herself. The ideal place for her would be a house with a large fenced garden, with one of two other big-ish dogs and somebody around most of the time. Regular activity (teaching her new behaviors, running, agility training) and company of others will make her happy. You will earn a magnificent dog beauty, warm-hearted and always ready to protect you and your family, whatever happens. But you have not only to love and understand her, but also to be strong enough personality to set limits for her. Quirks, peculiarities, work to be done: -- She is afraid of water: puddles, water splashed on the floor etc. She doesn't panic, but she refuses to go (which can be overrun, though). -- She adamantly tries to hunt cats. Our local cats are hardcore street muggers and they stand their ground, but any house kitten may have a serious problem. -- She obeys 'sit' command, at least for a while, but the rest of typical training is still to be done. In our circumstances we could not give her enough exercise, so the excess energy made more training impossible. -- She is quite a chewer. Absolutely needs some robust toys, her favorite being all kind of balls, also on a rope, pieces of heavy-duty gardening hose and plastic bottles. We think she may love motorbike tire hanging on a (steel) rope. What we managed to do: -- She is healthy, spayed and vaccinated. In good shape: 25 kG, ~64 cm high. -- She has chip implant and corresponding 'pet passport' with blank space for her new 'owner'. -- After short transition period she accepts new people as her leaders. -- And she got as much love as she needed to start recovering from the past and to become a happy (if a bit a handful) dog. Now, the rest is up to you... The text with more of her pictures: https://www.facebook.com/notes/peter-pirx/a-fine-young-doberwoman-is-looking-for-her-human/141550256574671/
