About Charlie

Charlie is 3.5 year old male mix of American Stafford Terrier, Doberman Pincher, Lab, and SharPei. He's a sweet, loving and loyal dog who I love very much but do not have time to give him the proper attention and he is better suited on a ranch or with adults who can spend more time with him. He is micro-chipped, neutered, healthy, up-to-date on medical care, heart-worm medication, vaccines, and flea and tick medications. He has extensive positive obedience training and responds to positive reinforcement and desensitization therapy. He has spent three weeks at an extensive training program. He is also crate trained for up to four hours while running errands or while guests are over. He is otherwise accustomed to bed and couch surfing. Charlie is well-suited for herding and guarding and for a loving family who will also treat him like family. Charlie has some anxiety and fearfulness which makes him a great guard dog but he needs to be with a responsible owner who is willing to work with him and properly train him and needs to build a bond of trust with his adopter. Charlie is a good match for a dog-savvy adult adopter with other large dogs or alone. Charlie does well with dogs he is properly introduced to but has leash reactivity which will need continued training. Charlie's history: he was a homeless stray up until four months and may have been abused. I have had him for the last three years and have trained and socialized him. He has lived with cats and another dog.
