About Lyla

Meet Lyla! Lyla is a 7 1/2 year old Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix who weighs 7.8 lbs. Lyla is a happy girl. She loves almost everyone; men, women, and older children. We understand that she is not so fond of cats. She gets along great with the other foster dogs here at her foster home. Lyla came into Puppy Pals Rescue when an owner surrendered her here locally. Since her arrival, she has received all her shots, has been heartworm and fecal tested (results negative), had a dental (with extractions), and recently had blood work and x-rays completed. She is in great health. We have learned that she has some arthritis in her left hip and at times she finds it hard to go '#2'. Our vet suggested giving her a stool softener which she gets every other day. This has helped tremendously. Lyla can wag her tail at warp speed. She dances in a circle and hops up and down because she is exceptionally happy. She even has a grin on her face. It's so easy to smile when Lyla is around. Lyla does fairly well walking on a leash. She just loves to go anywhere and everywhere! She plays in the rain, walks in the wet grass, and loves the warm sunshine too. Although Lyla loves to be on the go, she does stay calm in the house. She is not a hyper dog. Lyla has excellent house manners. If left out frequently, she will not have accidents. She will go on a pee pad if offered. She answers to her name and holds the cutest conversations when she 'talks' to you. Lyla plays nicely with other dogs and has no food aggression. Her current foster parents are home most of the day; however, she is accustomed to being crated. We highly recommend crating if you are not at home.
