About Shelly

Shelly has been in foster with us since 5/31/14. She's shy and easily overwhelmed, but once settled into a home she's affectionate, sweet, loves to play, loves squeak toys, and is ridiculously solidly housebroken. When she gets nervous, she barks until you come over and either pet her or let her into the bedroom so she can be alone. She reminds us of Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory (very quirky/requires structure), hence the name Shelly (that's what his mother calls him). We estimate she's around 7 years old now and weighs 42 lb. Fenced yard required. Very strong on leash but she loves to romp around in our fenced yard. --------------------------------------------------------------------- We think she continues to be stressed here because we have foster dogs coming and going and she's not a fan of change. So we're listing her again to see if anyone wants to try to give her a calmer forever home. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Shelly is fostered in Blakeslee PA 18610. It will take several meetings at our place and yours before we can consider transitioning her. --------------------------------------------------------------------- This would be a foster-to-adopt arrangement to give her and you time to settle in together. She's a good watch dog which means she's not suitable for condo or apartment living. She does well here at our 1 acre wooded property. I think a densely populated area would be too stressful for her. --------------------------------------------------------------------- She's looking for someone who's a homebody because Shelly's favorite place to be is home. She's a very sweet dog...if you can handle her quirkiness.
