Melody was found catching the sites of San Antonio when she was picked up by an animal control officer. She wasn't looking her best, but is on the road to recovery. She came in with a pretty serious case of dermatitis and is slowly working on growing her hair back. She is a pup that would do best in a home with only people. She doesn't seem to like any of the dogs she has encountered and has a pretty high prey drive for cats. She is still recovering from her heartworm treatment and has been having a fairly difficult time with it. It seems to be rougher for her than most that have been treated. Fortunately, she is being fostered in a home where she is kept away from any other animals and has a blanket she can lay on comfortably while she recovers. She is very affectionate towards her humans and gives a barrage of kisses when she is around them. She enjoys walking around the backyard and laying out on the back porch in the sun. She does really well in a crate (very quiet) and goes in very nicely. She is also potty trained with a doggie door. She doesn't really seem to want to be on furniture, but prefers to have nice comfy blankets on the floor. If the humans are on the furniture and invite her up, that is when she will jump up.
