About Gabby

READY FOR ADOPTION/LONG TERM FOSTER Gabby is a 1 1/2+ year old spayed female pit mix. Gabby is up to date on shots and microchipped. She is wonderful with well behaved humans and med/large sized dogs. NO CATS! She is crate and doggie door trained. She walks well on a leash. She is still considered a puppy and still has the energy of a puppy. Her favorite things to do are play with water and give hugs. GABBY'S BACKGROUND STORY Gabby was surrendered to a veterinary office a few months ago. Apparently, her owners didn't want her anymore because she growled at their other dog and they thought she she would turn aggressive towards their children. They asked the vet office to put her down. Luckily the vet office convinced the owners to agree to surrender her to a rescue after they did an assessment on Gabby. Every person who met Gabby from the vet office, Gabby would come up to, hug whoever they were and start to cry. A sister rescue reached out to us with her story, we went to meet her and do a behavioral assessment on her, when she came up to me, she softly hugged me and cried. We had her interact with a dog to see her initial temperament and she did well so our rescue took her in. She has never stopped giving hugs since but now no longer cries :) She has been in a back and forth temporary foster/ boarding cycle and has been around several dozen dogs who she's interacted with very well.
