About Ripley Rose

English Setter
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Ripley is an athletic and free spirited two-and-a-half-year-old English Setter. She is a field dog who loves exploring the great outdoors, and she'll be a great fit for an active person or family with a loving home and big yard and the space to set her spirit free. Ripley is house trained and crate trained. She knows the basic commands and is a total love-bug with people. She is eager to learn, and a quick study who doesn't need Halloween tricks to know just what 'treat' means! She will enjoy the chance to love and engage her family in her new home. Ripley is eager on a leash, and as she's always ready for action she'll benefit from some coaching with a harness. She is confident going out in public places and is a 'people dog' who is fine with new people and greets everyone with a smile. She gets along fine with other dogs but she's all about family and she loves contact, petting and hugs with her people. Ripley likes to run and hang out in the yard where she adds a new dimension to 'field work.' Cats, squirrels, and birds are all fun to track, but butterflies bring out the best in her and her butterfly-chasing antics will steal your heart. If you're ready to love a quick study who loves to put in the backyard laps and is a bit of a goofball, then Ripley is for you. Ripley is very affectionate and loves contact with people. She's good for hours of play and exercise outdoors, but she decompresses to cuddle and close contact when she comes inside. She enjoys family time, and she's fine with crate-time at night or if everyone is heading out. Furniture privileges are a joy to her, and she is happy around the house. She hears the call of the wild, though, and she'll probably do best with older kids and active adults who are quick to shut doors and keep our active girl happily indoors. Ripley's a smart girl and she adapts to new dogs and people quickly. Ripley has some prey drive, so she's not a good match for a home with cats. For all of her interest in the outdoors and its creatures, she's not a hunter and isn't a good match if you need a hunting dog. Ripley has fantastic energy and would probably love occasional runs, sprints or marathons, but she'll do best with a home with a big fenced yard and wide enclosed spaces to play around in. Ripley is capable and ready to settle down in a family and home who will teach her, engage with her and balance good indoor time with the joys of the great outdoors. Ripley is in a foster home in Austin, TX. She is healthy, spayed, micro-chipped, just had a dental, and current on vaccines. Are you the active people with wide open enclosed spaces that this amazing Miss Ripley can call home?
