Meet SHARKTOOF | AVAILABLE | SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY | EMAIL: [email protected] | Say hello to our sweet senior puffball - Sharkey! Sharktoof came to us with one immediately apparent feature: One giant canine tooth sticking straight up that wasn't at all comfortable for the little guy. The tooth is gone but the name remains, and we've been getting to know this lovebug who doesn't have a mean bone in his 10 pound poodley body! Estimated around 10 years young, Sharktoof is active, alert and cheerful - taking nothing for granted. It's heartwarming to see how much he appreciates having a warm bed, people to curl up next to, and the stability of knowing he'll always get his meals on time. His tooth-less grin will greet you at the door as he wags his nubby little tail with sheer joy! Sharkey has a big heart and poodle brains. He's extremely smart, food motivated and easy to train. He willingly shares his bed with big lug pugs (who snore), and we think he'd do well in a low to moderately active family with someone who is home often and has one or two other friendly, mellow dogs. He hasn't been tested around cats but has proven to be very dog and kid social. He's the kind of dog that will make friends with the mailman rather than bark at him. :) Even though he doesn't let anything slow him down, Sharkey has a heart murmur and takes a pill for his ticker twice a day. He's otherwise in good shape and has more than enough energy for two walks and a run around the yard every day. Despite a neglected past, he's emerged with zero anxiety issues, and even though he'll be the most appreciative recipient of belly rubs and pets, he's okay on his own or with a dog buddy too. What wins us over the most though is that Sharkey clearly has such a positive outlook on life. We expect him to have several good golden years ahead and hope he'll soon find his forever family so he can get started on his future. We think Sharkey is very wise.
