Tux (about 3 and a half months old as of 12/5) is a spayed female black tuxedo shorthaired kitten. Tux and her littermates were born to a pregnant stray cat whose caretaker took her in to deliver her litter and raise her kittens. Imagine the surprise when she had 8! The brave caretakers kept them all until they were weaned, 4 went to a shelter and 4 more went to be fostered for our adoption program of which Tux and her sister Maddie are the only 2 left. Tux is a friendly, vocal girl who begs for attention and just loves to be petted. She does well with strangers at her foster home but just hates being out on display at our public adoption events and gets super fussy, so we're hoping someone will want to come meet her at home and see what she's really like. Besides meowing her head off if she wants attention and you're not giving it to her Tux is also very playful, so we think she'll do best with her sister Maddie or another young, playful kitty to wear her out and make her less demanding. She gets along great with other cats and seems open to dogs but hasn't actually had the experience of cuddling or playing with them directly. Our adoption fee for kittens under 6 months old is $125 or 2 for $200, which includes them getting fixed, microchipped, tested for FIV and FeLV, and up to date on vaccines. If you would like to meet a variety of our kittens, many not listed here yet, please check out our regular adoption events, Sundays from 12-4 at the Vernon Hills Petco.
