About Dozer

Adoption Fee: $100
American Staffordshire Terrier / Bulldog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

January 15, 2017, I took Dozer to foster because of Alachua County Animal Services (ACAS), Gainesville, Florida being overcrowded. He is housebroken, trained, and sleeps outside of the crate. The reason I need to rehome him is that my travel lifestyle is detrimental to his health. Each summer I drive to visit family in Oklahoma and Iowa on my way to Colorado. In June 2017, I took him to Colorado, through Oklahoma and Iowa, approximately 2,250 miles, and he got sick. Additionally, I turn 70 in Feb 2018, and with my Russian wife, will be spending 4 months of each year in Finland. I am a certified dog trainer. He is well trained and I have even taken him into rehab hospitals frequently. He loves people, children, and other dogs - all sizes. I take him for a 30 min run every day, twice a day, sunrise and sunset. We are back in Florida now and he is completely recovered from our long trip together. I chose to foster him because he looks like a Boxers and doesn't bark. ACSC estimated his age to be approximately 2 1/2. I will continue to foster him until a proper re-home is found. I will pay for his food for 1 year, and will provide crate, leash, collar, bed, etc. I will donate $100 to Rescue Me.
