WAGS (German Pinscher mix) - AVAILABLE Only $65 adoption!!! This little sweetheart was confiscated for cruelty and neglect. He lived with 9 other dogs, and he had not been cared for for several days. Upon arriving at the shelter, he showed fear which landed him on their euthanasia list. That is when Safe Haven stepped in. Wags is super sweet and loving. He loves to cuddle and will nestle in your neck to get as close to you as possible. He has a very bubbly personality. I call him Mr. Social because he has this super happy attitude and just loves everyone (both people and animals). He'd be a great dog to take to the dog park. Wags is a fun dog. He is so cute. When he runs, he does these long leaps. It is so adorable. He also loves the big cushy dog beds and rolls around on them in pure happiness. Wags had no training when he came in, but he will now come when called. He naturally wants to stand on his hind legs (like a little human), and he can do it for quite a long time. So I have been working with him to 'Stand up' when asked. He also knows 'Down', and 'Outside'. PLEASE NOTE: All of the pets at Safe Haven receive basic training when they come here. All adopters will be given a list of words that your new pet knows at the time of adoption. What each pet learns depends on how much time I have had to work with them, & if that pet has any additional issues that need to be focused on first. The pets here are always improving. Birthday: 5/14/15 Weight at last Vet visit: 18 lbs Cats: Looks at them as playmates Small Dogs: Looks at them as playmates Large Dogs: Looks at them as playmates Kids: This would be a great dog for kids Men: Unknown Women: Loving and affectionate. Wants to be with you and do whatever you are doing. Strangers: A little shy and apprehensive at first, but warms up well after a little while. Especially if they give him treats. Food: I feed all the dogs on a rotational diet. Which means they get a different brand of high quality food each month. I do this because I do not think that one brand can provide all the nutrients that they need. Just like one food can't provide us with all that we need...Plus, who wants to eat the same thing every day? All dogs are fed breakfast (6 am) & dinner (4 pm), & are trained to eat out of their own bowl. He is currently on Nutro Wholesome Essentials (Small bites, farm raised chicken, brown rice and sweet potato flavor). He gets 1/2 rounded cup for breakfast and again for dinner for a total of a little over 1 cup of dry food a day. Plus for dinner, I add 1 tsp. organic olive oil, 1 tsp. Missing Link food supplement for skin and coat, some 'The Honest Kitchen' mix, and some type of fruit or veggie, plain yogurt, or cottage cheese. He likes the fruits and veggies the best and will eat those first. (organic apples, green beans, pureed pumpkin (not the pie filling. That is bad for them. It has to be the pure pureed pumpkin) Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes, he uses the doggy door here. Leash Trained: Wags LOVES to go on walks. I'd like to see him go to a home that will take him out on daily walks. Only issue I see is that he is fearful of cars that pass by. I have been working with him on this and he is improving. Car: I haven't taken him on any car rides Other issues: He rolls around outside, and he gets a little dirty from it. Adoption fee is only $65 & includes: - Spay/Neuter surgery - Up to date on Vaccinations - Collar - Microchip - Harness * - Leash - Other surprise goodies from Safe Haven - Free office visit to Vet - 50% off any Optimum Wellness Plan - 30 days of free Pet Insurance - Other coupons from Partners - Available Paperwork: Spay/Neuter records, Vaccination records, Vet records, Micro records, Recommendation list, etc... - Continued Support: Safe Haven will be there for the lifetime of your new adopted pet.
