About Tillie

Tillie is an athletic and engaging 7-year old Llewellin Setter. She is a smart girl who takes the care of her home and family seriously, and she'll be a great fit for an active person or family who engages her and takes her along on adventures! Tillie is house trained and crate trained. She knows the basic commands of control: 'stay', 'lay down', and 'off,' and she'd like to expand into some of the more engaging commands. She is eager to learn, and a quick study for whom a 'treat' makes her even quicker! She will enjoy the chance to learn all the commands in her new home. Tillie is comfortable on a leash, but all walks are not necessarily 'squirrel hunts,' and she will benefit from your guidance. She is confident going out in public places, loves people (home and away) and greets strangers warmly and politely. She gets along fine with other dogs and family dogs, but her primary bonding will be with you. Tillie likes to run (or hang out) in the yard and she practically defines 'prey drive.' She may think that cats, squirrels and birds are three of the four 'food groups,' and she'll need your coaching there. If you're ready to coach a quick study who's a bit of a goofball, then Tillie could be your girl. Tillie is very affectionate and velcro-y towards individuals. She's always up for walks, runs, or other outdoor adventures, and she dreams of a home and family where they take her along on outdoor adventures too. She can be a 'couch potato' indoors, and she's a great match for a stay-at-home or work-from-home family. She's fine with elementary school-aged kids and pre-teens - the more people around the house the better! She's a capable girl and she adapts to new dogs quickly. Tillie's not a good match for a home with cats. She may have prey-drive, but she absolutely has cat-drive! Tillie has medium energy and would probably love occasional runs or occasional trips to the dog-park, and she longs to settle into a routine with a person or people who will teach her, engage with her and help her get comfortable with the ins-and-outs of your family and your home.
