About Brooklyn, Keeper

Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

'Hello, my name is Brooklyn! I'm ready to start searching for my forever home! I love my foster home and foster parents, but I realize I am ready to start looking for my permenant home. I'm a bit shy at first, but do eventually warm up to people once I realize they aren't going to hurt me. I currently have two really BIG boxer brothers that I trust to help protect me. I like to play with them but sometimes I get scared when they get too loud or rough. I'm only 60 lbs and they're 92 lbs and 72 lbs. I really love my giant fur brothers anyway. We get along really well. I am crate trained and will go in with no fuss, but it's not my place of choice. I'm only crated when my foster parents are not home (that's not very often since they're both retired). I still have occasional accidents at night, but not every night. Otherwise, I do my duty outside. I have a nose-nudge I use when I want out or want something or try to wake my foster mom up (my foster mom thinks it's cute!). My foster mom says I still need some work on the leash. I'm not real good with that, but just need more practice. I'm very smart so, with a harness, I should do much better. My foster mom says I should mention that I'm not a barker. When I do bark, I have a quiet squeaky bark. Also, I do not get on the furniture either even though it's ok in my foster home. Last night my foster dad picked me up and put me on the couch. That was comfy! I fell right to sleep too! Hi, this is Brooklyn's foster mom here. Brooklyn is a sweetheart that has had a really rough past. She needs a very patient and fairly calm household. Loud noises still startle her. If she does something wrong (which is seldom), I gently verbally redirect her...I never scold her. That terrifies her. She is now a happy little girl and can do the best kidney beans I've ever seen! She is beginning to play with soft toys and tries to get her fur brothers to play too. I plan to be very particular with placing her in a forever home. Brooklyn and I will make that decision. Please let us know if you are interested in meeting Brooklyn and we'll be right over.'
