About Max

Jack Russell / Dachshund
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

About Max Max is a 3 year old male Jack Russell, Dachshund mix, about 15 pounds. Max (and his brother Prince) came into rescue very scared and quite defensive. He was not sure why his world was upside down. He was raised in a backyard,. never went anywhere and was barely acknowledged by his last owner. Being a true Doxie, change and strangers are not his favorite thing. With love and patience, we gave him time and he blossomed. He is still timid with strangers but is happy, bouncy and will leap into your arms for kisses. He also loves to eat so the key to his heart will be cheese and hot dogs! He is not leash trained yet and will require a fenced yard as he is still a flight risk until he is bonded to you. He needs to be in an adult only home with preferably another confident dog to help him discover the world. He is a sweet boy who needs an patient and understanding adopter who will give him the time and training he needs. Max is neutered, up to date on vaccines and micro chipped. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters.
