Simba is a rascally cute cat, whose previous life as a stray has led to having some health issues. Simba has FIV, or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Due to this, Simba needs a home that can give him a little extra care. Simba LOVES being petted, and enjoys watching out windows, keeping appraised of the world's goings on. He would love a home where he can be an only pet and soak up all the attention, and return it all tenfold! Visit Simba at our Adoption Center open Monday through Saturday 11am to 4:30pm. All animals will be spayed/neutered at time of adoption. Contact the Adoption Center at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter at (864) 942-8775 or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Some basic FIV facts: ‰'Û¢ 'FIV' stands for 'feline immunodeficiency virus,' a virus that affects the immune system of cats slowly, over a long period of time. ‰'Û¢ FIV is specific to cats and cannot be spread to humans. ‰'Û¢ FIV is spread from one cat to another via deep, penetrating puncture wounds. It is not spread through sneezing, feces, scratching or mild play bites. ‰'Û¢ FIV positive cats need to be indoor cats to prevent fighting with outdoor cats. ‰'Û¢ **Medical studies show that FIV positive cats can live just as long as FIV negative cats.** Don't be afraid - know the facts! FIV cats need love, too!
