About Oscar

Oscar is one of those whose life has been a hard luck story. We pulled him from a kill shelter where he was awaiting euthanasia. We found him to be a joyous happy -go-lucky guy with a big problem-- a lot other dogs just don't seem to like him! And Oscar just doesn't understand that because he wants to be everyone's buddy and thinks other dogs should always be ready to play with him. We finally found a room mate who likes him--an older gentle female. Then we found that Oscar had a severe case of heartworms. His treatment was difficult and we nearly lost him to pneumonia. And through it all, Oscar kept his happy good nature. In fact, as he got better, it was very difficult to keep him from bouncing up and down on his doghouse and playing too hard. Now he has a clean bill of health and just wants a loving home. He would probably get along with a female dog,but considering his past experience, a home with no male dogs or with other dogs who are gentle and calm would be best.
