About Kimbra

Belgian Malinois mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Kimbra: A Sweet Girl that Needs a Friend to Build Her Confidence 3-year-old, female, Shepherd/Malinois mix Good with other dogs: Yes Good with children: Older children only Good with cats: Unknown Kimbra is a beautiful and intelligent young girl full of potential with the right family. Kimbra came into the county shelter in Tucson as a stray and was very afraid of everything. With some time and lots of love and attention, from volunteers, Kimbra recently made a transition to a foster home and now enjoys attention! Her foster mom says she does still have some anxiety, but would really benefit from being with other dogs as she doesn't like to be alone. We don't know about her past, but we suspect she wasn't treated well. She is wary of people and excitable dogs, but she warms up little by little over time. Her anxiety comes off in a very submissive way, so there is no aggression at all. We recommend a home with other dogs that are just as calm and easygoing as her, but have more confidence to help her find her way more quickly. She loves to be outside and go on long walks and hikes, but she likes to take her time and stop to smell the roses. Kimbra likes to follow her foster around the house and is so excited to get treats, and she'll even come up to sniff and say hi to strangers, especially if they have a dog with them. She would do best with a family with someone home most of the time, as she's shown signs of separation anxiety that she'll need to work through with her new family. She is a happy girl when her foster mom is home and loves to to be with her. Kmbra is willing and ready to work to become a happier and more confident dog, she just needs time and patience, and then she will be a best friend to anyone. We don't recommend little children because they will likley scare her. But older children should be OK. If you'd like to adopt Kimbra, please fill out our online application. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application
