I'm going to be somebody some day! Date into Rescue: 9/9/2017 Reason for being in rescue: I'm one of hurricane Irma's orphans Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? none noted- I do have a small mass on the right side of my eye but I am in no pain Weight: 54 lbs Height: estimated 22' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $99 Fence needed? Yes, I really need a fence. What kind of home would be best for me? I need a active home that could possibly give me a job to do! What is my personality like? I am a hurricane Irma orphan that was rescued with a few others by Carolina Poodle Rescue. One of the 'breed experts' here believes I am a Belgian Shepherd Malinois hound mix and I have the personality to go with it. No, these people do not know my past but they do see I have a drive for something. What that something is we have not figured out yet. I am pretty independent right now, I don't need loads of attention or gushy baby talk because I am an adult dog and don't have time for those silly things. My caregiver thinks that I can learn to bond with someone but it will take a special person to bring that out in me. Who knows.. maybe I have gone a long time without being a family dog and may need to learn how to be that. I am very assertive and alert, you can't sneak anything by me! I don't miss a beat. One of my caregivers say I have a lot of potential to become something great and the want to go with it. I am not the happiest here.. all I do when I am outside is stare out the fence and bark because I desire so deeply to be a part of the action. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly but I pay more attention to things going on around me. More tips and tidbits: I do not walk on a leash very well, I pull with all of my mite but that can be helped with the right kind of harness and training. I am very treat motivated and I know how to sit and give hand shakes. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Estimated birth date 1/1/2008
