COCO IS ADOPTED!!!!YES, WE'RE AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!****** Maise & Coco came in as a 'bonded pair', but can be adopted separately. These 13 year old girls are full of life and still have lots of love left to give. We received a message on facebook that asked for our help with these two sweethearts. The young girl's mother died & she could not keep them, so of course we did not want these two sweethearts to end up in the shelter, so we helped them out. They are 13 years old, They have never known another home besides the one they have been in for 13 years, and are currently in a foster home with two other scotties. Maise is super sweet 21.2lb scottie. Once she warms up to you, she is very loving and likes attention. She loves being petted on and getting affection, but she sometimes gets a little scared if you approach from behind. She will also turn and nip a little when you pick her up, so we think they might have had stairs or pet furniture so they may have not been picked up often. She definitely has the scottie temperament if she is in the mood! It would be good if she went to a home that has the time to make them the center of attention(these girls will eat it up!). They enjoy being with other dogs that are mellow and low in energy, they get along well with the foster's other dogs. Maise also enjoys being outside and have a yard to investigate, they really love being outside and get a lot of energy to run around in the grass! She also doesn't seem to be a heavy barker. We also just discovered that Maise has cushings & she will be on vetoryl for the remainder of her life. the cost for the treatment of this will be approximately $50 per month. Coco is an 18.2lb doxie love that also enjoys all of your attention. She has a very good appetite, and as such she is a little overweight, but with time and attention she can be back to a normal weight. Even though she is on the larger size, she still has got some moves and energy to run around the backyard with Maise! We also think that Coco may not had much experience getting picked up, as she yelps when you pick her up, even if she is asking for it or asking for help up on furniture. Other than that she is not a large barker. Coco is such a little dear though, she wants nonstop attention and will put her head under your hand until she tires you out. She prefers to be right next to you at all times, you can definitely see she is a genuine lap dog. We took them to our vet and got them all fixed up, unfortunately they needed a lot of work done, over $1800 worth. They are getting healthy again with us, as Maise got updated on her shots, chipped, had to get an exploratory surgery to see if she was spayed(she was), she needed a dental & polish, along with 9 teeth removed. Coco needed to be spayed, she was actually in heat when we got her at her 13 years of age. She also received a dental, with 5 teeth removed. Coco also had a mass removal, and we got her updated on her shots, chipped, and she was also treated for a bad ear infection. Like most dogs in our rescue, Maise will need work on potty training. Maise & Coco have an adoption fee of $950 if adopted together. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application.
