About Kuma

Adoption Fee: 250
German Shepherd / Akita
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

KUMA - A HANDSOME LOYAL GERMAN SHEPHERD Kuma is a handsome loyal and friendly German Shepherd and Akita mix that will bring friendship and companionship to an experienced owner. Once you become Kuma's friend, you are friends for life. Kuma has some amazing qualities, he is just as happy if he gets to go on a long mid day as he is just hanging out in a home and lounging around with his best friends. Kuma is a big boy, about 80 pounds but is gentle when leaning up against his friends for affection. You can trust Kuma in your home for long periods of time. When you come home and take him out, he will walk obediently on a leash and follow commands. He will generally ignore larger dogs on a walk, but does like to chase small animals and is fascinated by birds. While Kuma is very friendly, he does have one bite history on him, so he will need to go to an experienced owner, as once he settles into a home he can be protective. Kuma has spent time around crowds and has been at a number of our dog adoption events meeting strangers with no issues. He will make a great companion to a single owner, or a wonderful couple looking for a buddy to go on hikes or just chill out at night. We estimate Kuma to be about 5 years old. We have not DNA tested him but believe that he is a mixture of German Shepherd and Akita. Kuma also likes to be the only dog in the home. He can interact with other dogs on walks and even just chilling outside with other dogs, but he likes his home to be dog and cat free.
