Turtles are placed for adoption only when circumstances prohibit their return to the wild. We do not charge an adoption fee; however, any donation toward the care we've provided to this turtle, as well as the hundreds of other turtles we help, is always welcome and appreciated. *Adoptive family is responsible for shipping when applicable. Shipping is overnight and weather permitting. S Scarface was part of the 2015 Crossgates Lake Cooperative Rescue Effort. The development's lake was drained without considering the wildlife inhabitants. CMTR volunteers rushed to the scene in an effort to save over 300 turtles literally incinerating in the sun. During Scarface's vet exam, it became evident someone had ripped a fishing hook out of his mouth, damaging his ear, nasal passage, and mouth. Scarface has endured some hardships, like his namesake. But, hale and hearty, he hasn't let that fishing hook slow him down! His ideal family will be willing to monitor his food intake to ensure his welfare! When he's not hanging out in his tank, you might find him holding court at his favorite local watering hole!
