About Rocky & Brownie

Rocky and Brownie are a bonded pair of happy, calm senior dachshunds looking for a forever home. Rocky is a spry 15 year old boy and Brownie is his 10 year old companion. Rocky and Brownie spend their days enjoying life in their foster home in North Carolina. They spend a lot of time sleeping and snuggling together. The ultimate in lap dogs, they follow their foster mom everywhere she goes and seize every opportunity for a snuggle and some loves. Rocky will jump on a lap the moment he has a chance! Brownie doesn't always want to be on his fosters lap but if you DARE leave the room without him he will BARK BARK BARK until his person comes back! Rocky and Brownie sleep in the big bed and they would like a home where they can continue to enjoy big bed privileges. Brownie and Rocky have a ramp to get into the big bed, but being a dachshund, Brownie is a wee bit stubborn and refuses to try it. Instead, he barks at the top of his lungs until his foster mom picks him up and puts him in his very special BIG bed. Rocky and Brownie love a car ride and enjoy taking trips with their people. They are crate trained but would rather not be in one and will complain if they are locked up. Rocky and Brownie do well with other dogs but are not tested with kitties or young children. Rocky and Brownie do well with their house training if they are kept on a regular schedule but like most dachshunds will have accidents if not put outside regularly. Like all dachshunds they need to be confident in their environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important.
