About Tasha

Tasha is an approximately 2 1/2 year old American Pitbull Terrier/Boxer mix that weighs about 50 lbs. She is spayed, UTD on shots, microchipped and heartworm negative. This sweet pea is potty trained, kennel/crate trained, is GREAT with people, some dogs, cats unknown. She is a snuggle bunny with low-medium energy. Tasha is sweet and friendly. She loves to run around the yard when she's super excited (like when she first meets new friends) and then she calms right down and wants to snuggle! She has a funny little run because she has a back problem where her brain does not communicate properly to her back end. Sometimes she crosses her back legs and stumbles a little while running, but she is perfectly capable of running and playing! She should not need any ongoing medical care, just someone who will understand that she can't do some activities (like hiking the AT), but will also understand that she still has a ton of love to give and that she is just like every other dog! Tasha was heartworm positive at Aiken Co Animal Shelter where HeartBeat then rescued her and then treated her for heartworms! Tasha had been lucky enough to get adopted, but her new mom's job changed unexpectedly and required her to be gone for weeks at a time. Tasha's new mom had no choice but to return her to the rescue. Tasha is adjusting well. Tasha is currently living with a foster home and looking for her forever home!
