Sydney is a young boxer / hound (possibly beagle or foxhound) mix puppy we have rescued, her estimated date of birth is 1/19/17. We rescued Sydney and her siblings at 12 weeks old from an abandoned trailer park where they were dumped. The pups were completely emaciated, and terrified. They had never been touched by people before. When we first picked them up, they were screaming, shrieking, and nipping at us in complete fear. With some dedication, love, and care from our foster families, all of the dogs have made amazing progress. These puppies who were once too afraid to make eye contact with us, shaking in their crates, are now looking to be pet and are realizing the human touch is not something to fear. Sydney currently weighs around 25-30 lbs, a perfect medium size. And while she has never nipped since the first day we rescued her, we are looking for a family without young children as she scares easily. Her reactions are not aggressive, if spooked she will cower or back away. A calmer home with older/more mature children would be best, as well as having a fenced in yard. Sydney loves other dogs, and loves to play with other dogs! A home with another dog would help Sydney become a more confident dog. Once she gets to know you, she is very sweet, and loves affection. However, she will need a dedicated and patient family to work with her. For the right family, Sydney will make an amazing companion! Two of Sydney's siblings have been adopted, and since being adopted have made a complete 180 and are now loving, happy, and social companions to their families.
