Chewy is looking for a foster or adopter who is savvy and patient with fearful dogs. She is currently fostered in Miramar, FL (Broward County). Chewy is about 5 years old and 35 lbs. She has come a long way since she was rescued from Miami-Dade Animal Services in March 2015. Chewy is a project dog, as she has been semi-feral and takes a long time to warm up. She has struggled with fear in the past, but has made great strides in her foster home. She prefers men to women, and loves kids. Cuddling with familiar people is her favorite activity! She adores other dogs and plays with them. She is a flight risk, especially in the initial months, and requires an observant and patient person willing to work on trust with her. She requires a secure fenced yard. Her home will be a special one that lets Chewy be Chewy. She is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, and microchipped. She is a wonderful girl who has come such a long way. She is ready for the next step in her journey!
