Hello there! My name is Pitch, and I am a handsome black DSH/ Bombay mix fella who was born in October 2016. I've got the Bombay mix's shiny and sleek black patent-leather coat, big round copper-penny eyes, and muscular, lithe body. What's unusual about me is that I've got a white 'pendant' spot on my chest! I get along great with other kitties and small dogs but can be a little timid with people until I get to know you. I don't hide all of the time like some shy cats, but I definitely need TLC initially to get me to warm up to you. Now that I know that I am safe with my loving foster mom, I get in her lap to watch TV with her! Her patience has paid big dividends! I was found all alone as a stray orphan kitten, so you can probably understand that I learned to be self-protective while I was fending for myself on the streets at such a young age. Fortunately, Buster's Friends group loves black cats, so my foster mom scooped me up when she saw me in a shelter. We all know what happens to black cats who end up in shelters! Now I'm delighted that my hardscrabble days are behind me and that I've got food and love lavished on me every day in my foster home. I need someone who sees my potential and who will be patient enough to let me trust you. If you can find it in your heart to give me a chance, I would be so grateful! You'll never regret it! Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet by Googling 'Cats 101 Bombay.' Pitch is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. His adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Pitch and we can let you know exactly where you can meet him.
