About Trooper

Adoption Fee: $250
Alaskan Malamute / German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Trooper is a magnificent fellow, a mixture of German Shepherd and possibly malamute. He weighs in at about 80 pounds. He is discriminating in who he bonds with, so he will need time and patience to establish the trust that he needs with his new owner. He walks nicely on the leash and has shown no aggression towards other animals, however, he is not fond of pushy or rough playing dogs. Trooper is basically a one person dog and would do best with a single individual who prefers a quiet lifestyle without a lot of people coming and going. He also needs to be the only dog in the household. Trooper will guard his home and bark at intruders, therefore, his new owner must be confident and set rules and boundaries for him. On-going obedience training is required. He is crate trained, however, he will need some brushing up in that area as well as appropriate behavior. Given time, patience and consistency , he would make a top notch and totally loyal companion. He does know some basic obedience and his desire to please is very high. Trooper loves physical attention from his chosen person, he is not 'everybody's' dog, he reserves his special attention for his selected person GEPDA dogs/puppies all come neutered/spayed, micro-chipped, DHPP shots, a bordetella, and have been de-wormed.
