Sweet Scarlette was rescued from a hoarding case in Kentucky when her elderly owner passed away. She lived there in horrible conditions along with more than 25 other dogs. The vet thinks she is about 10 years old, but this sweet, gentle gal still has a lot of love to give! She gets along well with other dogs and with cats, too. Although she weighs around 45 lbs., she feels like a smaller dog. Scarlette is completely house trained and easy to walk on a leash (another dog helps to get her going in the right direction). She's a very dog and a wonderful addition to a family. Older kids would probably be better although she's gentle younger children might make her more nervous. Her new foster mom has created a blog with more info and pictures - you can see it here: http://fosteringk9s.tumblr.com Scarlette is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and recently had some much-needed dental work done ... so her bags are packed and she's ready to roll! If you'd like to meet her, please contact us to see if she will be at an upcoming Meet & Greet ... and come find out if Scarlette is the right girl for you! (Local adoptions preferred - Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) http://almosthomedogrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=10832029
