Luci is a 5-year-old redhead with a heart of gold, but she is feeling blue because she is still waiting for an adoptive home. She doesn't ask much‰'Ű| just a calm household in a quiet neighborhood, with a person or couple who wants to be adored by a gentle, well-behaved little gal. Luci walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and knows basic commands. She's also house-trained if she's kept on a schedule and not rushed when taken outside. She prefers that you go outside with her since she may need to run to you for protection if she hears scary noises (like garbage trucks, fireworks, power tools, yelling children, or strange dogs barking). When she is feeling at ease, Luci is frisky and playful and enjoys chasing squirrels in the yard or 'Rattie-shaking' her stuffed toys. Because she had some bad experiences in her past with being bullied by other dogs, she would much prefer to live as an only dog, although she will eventually warm up to another small, gentle dog if the introductions are done very slowly. Luci is friendly when she meets new people and is very affectionate with those she knows well. She thrives at being a companion and nothing makes her happier than when it's time for you to settle in on the sofa for some snuggle time. Currently Luci weighs a little over 18 lbs., but she's working on dropping some weight and getting down under 16 lbs. You can see lots more photos of her in her online album at http://imageevent.com/beales/fosters/luci. ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Luci, please go to New Rattitude's web site at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
