About Happy

9/17/17 update: Happy was in for her annual checkup this last week and weighed in at 9 lbs. Doc says she should be about 7 1/2 to 8 lbs. She went through an obedience class this summer and did well. She understands 'no', comes when called and is good on a leash. She uses the doggy door well to go potty with an occasional poopy on the floor if she decides she would rather not go outside. (A woman's perogative? A bratty puppy day? Still trying to figure that one out, lol.) She loves to snuggle and perches on Adelia's shoulder for tv and lounge time. She gets along great with the other pets in the house, including a Border Collie mix (Happy flirts with him and he can't catch her) and an elderly cat. Happy is a kisser too. Foster mom Adelia says the only fault Happy has (other than the occasional potty compliance issue) is she will sneak out the gate when it is trash day. Adelia has the gate open trying to get the trash can out and Happy runs past her. She runs like the wind until she hears Adelia calling her back for a treat. (Apparently she has been getting a lot of those treats based on her weigh, lol.) We also have a facebook page for our group, Pop's Legacy Rescue Group. July 2016 - Chiweenie girl born Jan. 2016. Precocious pup who still likes to get into anything she can. Very playful! Happy was found running as a stray near a busy intersection on July 5th. Our guess is that she was spooked by fireworks the night before. We were stunned to not find an owner desperately searching for her. She is a bundle of energy and keeps her foster mom on her toes. Happy gets along with the other dogs and even a cat in the foster home. If she can sneak out the door she will! Happy would likely not do well with very young children as she is prone to jump out of your arms when you are holding her.
