About Siri

Adoption Fee: $675
German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Hi, My name is Siri. I am about 2 years old. I am a very sweet girl. I am up to date on my vaccinations, I have been spayed, dewormed and microchipped. I am heart worm negative an i am on monthly heart worm, flea, tick, and intestinal worm preventatives. I am very loving and really enjoy attention. I love to play and be with my humans all the time. I have been through a lot in the last eight months and really just need a stable and predictable routine and environment. I do love all people, young and old alike. While I do get along with other dogs, especially medium to large sized dogs I much prefer human company. I really love the water and would gladly take a swim every day if given the chance. I love playing with toys and I still think that I am a lap dog. I will nudge your hand and look up at you with my big eyes as if i were saying something like (I'm so sorry that your arm is broke - I know that's the only reason you are not petting on me) LOL. I enjoy riding in the car and going on outings. I am very clever. I will give anyone a kiss and allow petting, belly rubs, and pretty much anything as long as you are giving me attention. I love playing in the water. I am house trained and I am crate trained but will get very anxious if I am kept in it for too long ( I was kept in a crate for 3 months and kept in boarding for an additional 5 months). Despite this I don't mind a crate but I would really prefer to be with my family. As a previous Service Dog, I have a fantastic personality. I have an amazing personality, temperament, and really wonderful disposition. These are things that cannot be purchased or trained, it just comes natural. Do you have room in your heart and home for a beautiful girl like myself? Do you have a little patience to see me reach my full potential? I am young and still very much puppy mentally. I will play and keep you company all day long and be perfectly happy to keep your spot in the bed warm should you allow me to share the be with you. There is an adoption process. 1. You request an adoption application (email [email protected] to request an application). 2. Your references and Vet reference will be checked, (your answers will be matched up with the particular dog - and others that are available). 3. IF all is well, a Home Visit will be scheduled. Sometimes a video or photos will be allowed. any issues will be identified and addressed. 4. IF all that has been done and it's all good then a Meet and Greet would be scheduled, IF that goes well then... You would be able to sign the adoption contract, pay the adoption fee (or make prior arrangements) and take me to my new forever home. It sounds like a lot - and maybe it is... but the Rescue only has my best interest at heart and they want to ensure that the family that takes me home is a good fit for my personality, temperament and that I have the best possible chances for a successful forever placement. So please don't be hesitant to put a little effort into bringing me, or one of my other rescue pals into your home. Thank You for considering Rescue over breeders. There is a $10 application fee - it does help keep the rescue efforts going. the application fee can be paid via our paypal link. www.PayPal.Me/FTLOD or a check can be made out and mailed to For the Love of Dogs Rescue, 315 Gray Street, Statesville, NC 28677. Please keep in mind that this rescue is ran of a Foster Home model, there is no facility. All of the dogs are kept in Foster Homes. That is one reason the application process is in the order that it is. We wish for you and your loved ones health, happiness, and prosperity. Once I am placed with my new handler, the rescue will work with and mentor the new handler to complete my task specific training wanted for my new handler's needs. together we will log up to 120 hours of training to consider me a working dog. The rescue would schedule with you regular training sessions (either in person or via skype) to keep my training ongoing to help increase my skill sets and refine my tasks. Once placement is made then we can work on the task specific skills wanted for your particular needs. I am officially a Service Dog In Training right now. IF I am not the right dog for your family, you can be put on the waiting list - typically the rescue can find the right dog for each home's specific needs within 6 months. Placement is NOT first Come, First Served - Its based on the BEST FIT for the family and the dog. It really depends on How LONG and Specific your 'Must Have' list is and how that matches up with the dogs that the rescue takes in. Most families do not mind waiting a little while for the RIGHT Dog for Their Home. We want this to be for the rest of the dog's life. Please be very specific about your home, activities, must have and would like to have descriptions on your application.
